On Saturday, I hit 25 weeks! We now only have 15 more weeks until our sweet baby girl arrives! Tomorrow, we are scheduled to have a 3D ultrasound. I am most looking forward to seeing our baby's face and also confirming that she is in fact a "she."
We had an early ultrasound (18 weeks) to determine the baby's sex so that Kevin's father, Benny would be able to know what we were having before he passed. Since the ultrasound should have been performed at 20 weeks, we are going to have this 3D ultrasound so that we can start painting the nursery pink next weekend!
On September 17th, my mom's birthday, Kevin's dad lost his battle with cancer. He was such an amazing support to Kevin and I and he will be missed, especially by this baby. He was so excited to become a grandpa again and was thrilled over the fact that this one would break the Chan mold of all boys. I know that he will be looking down on her as she grows and Kevin and I will make sure that she knows what a wonderful, strong man her Grandpa Chan was.
Thank you to all of you who have continued to pray for our family and for Benny. We have felt such overwhelming love and strength from all of you. This has been a trying six months, however, now we know that Benny is at peace and no longer suffering. Kevin and I can start focusing on our future with this incredible miracle God has given us. We love and miss you Benny. May you rest in Peace.
This picture was taken right after Benny's diagnosis. He is holding my nephew Alex, something he did quite often. If you ever needed your baby to fall asleep, send him Benny's way!
